Living in his “Presence”
Abiding in me is an act of faith that is the gateway to you living in my presence. Living in my presence will not always be a sensation or emotional experience because a sensation or an emotion is temporary. I don’t want you to be disappointed when you don’t feel those things in our devotional time together as if my presence is not with you.
Not the case, as you continue in your obedience as I direct you through word, song, messages and my small still voice. You are living in my presence. If you want to abide in me you have to go where I am going. Abide in me and I will abide in you. ( John 15:10) Stay obedient as you will see much more fruit though your obedience. Your obedience is not about works. It is about your expectation in me to bring my word to pass in your life as I promised.
As you abide in me you will learn to sense my still small voice (1 Kings 19:12). Abiding will allow your desire to accomplish more for me to flourish. This will be a sweat less effort because you will be more in tune with my directives. (Grace) As my branch, I desire for you to produce much more fruit. The producing of fruit comes from healthy branches. Branches become healthy through my discipline and pruning. Discipline and pruning are seasons that all my branches must experience. Sometimes you will be in one season and not the other or you may experience both simultaneously.
Each season is to help you bear much more fruit. Abiding gives you the rest you need to bear a much greater yield. Abide in me and live in my presence. “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” ( 15:7 KJV). As you know, discipline and or pruning are uncomfortable. Thus, your response in each season is vital to your expected abundance.
